District 13 covers Potong Pasir, Macpherson, and Braddell. These areas fall within postal sectors 34, 35, 36, and 37. This is one of Singapore’s less talked-about districts. You’ll find a mix of older condos, HDB estates, and pockets of landed housing.

Most buyers view a property two or three times before making a decision. My record? Six viewings for a semi-detached house in Sennett Estate, District 13.

The husband was fixated on numbers. He felt the price was too high. The wife loved it and saw it differently.

Over the next few viewings, family members from both sides visited.

In the end, he bought it. Whether the family’s vote swayed him or he loved his wife more than his spreadsheet, I’ll never know.

But the deal closed. Sometimes the heart has better valuation methods than the calculator.
