SELL & RENT HDBS IN YISHUN ESTATE

Yishun (义顺), formerly known as Nee Soon, is a vibrant town in the northern region of Singapore. Part of the North West CDC, it is well-connected by Yishun and Khatib MRT stations on the North-South Line and major expressways like the SLE and CTE.

Yishun offers residents a self-sufficient lifestyle with modern conveniences. Its continuous development and upgrading initiatives have transformed it from a rural settlement into a modern township while maintaining its charm.

These are some of the HDB subzones in the Yishun estate:

  • Khatib
  • Yishun Central
  • Yishun East
  • Yishun West

With parks and reservoirs all around, you’ll never be left without something to do over the weekend.

And honestly, with the number of affordable food places around, you could have varied family outings that last three whole years even if you tried a new store every day.

Yishun: Weird or Wow?

(a) Historical Origins:
Named after Lim Nee Soon (林義順), a prominent businessman known as the “Pineapple King” who owned extensive rubber and pineapple plantations in the area during the early 1900s.

The name was changed from “Nee Soon” to “Yishun” during the 1980s as part of the government’s nationwide campaign to standardize Chinese place names using Mandarin pronunciations.

The area was historically significant for its plantations and farming communities before urban development.

Both hospitals form part of the “health district” concept in Singapore’s north.
